 WHO WE ARE

We are a small art tile company located in Santa Cruz, California. We specialize in doing only custom work. This ensures that each job is suited to the needs of the customer.

 WHAT WE DO

Our tile represents a wide variety of styles, ranging from very realistic underglaze work, pressed relief, geometric and botanic repeat patterns in both underglaze and overglaze. Our work leans toward the California art tile style, but we also do Moorish, arts-and-crafts, and art nouveau designs as well. Please no kitsch.

Our tiles are suited to indoor and outdoor use, and can be used in bathrooms, kitchens, and fireplaces, as well as exterior applicatons for tables, chairs and fountains.

All of our murals are designed as one-of-a-kind pieces to fit the style and needs of the site. Our tiles are in no way limited to squares as we make most of our work from scratch and can cut the clay into almost any shape.

 WHAT WE CHARGE

Prices vary on each project based on the complexity of the design, whether it is a design we already have in our inventory or if the design is totally custom. Many of the repeating patterns are carved from linoleum, so they are easily reproduced, but the murals and many of the underglaze designs are one-of-a-kind. The repeating patterns can also be made into almost any size, at a slightly higher cost if a new lino cut is needed.

The average is $150-$250/sq.ft. for the completed tile only. This includes a reasonable amount of design time. Anything considered unreasonable will be charged accordingly.

Table bases and other furniture elements as well as fountains and any other materials needed to complete the job are charged at a fair rate.

 OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMERS

Since each job is custom, it is imperative that all measurements, color choices, and final design are agreed upon before the pieces are fired since it is hard to stretch or shrink a fired tile. We take the utmost care to ensure that the client is happy with the work before it is fired.

Because this is art tile, certain imperfections and color variations may occur during the firing process. We will work out any reasonable problems before the work is considered finished.

All other problems will be handled by our complaints expeditor Sasha
